We started in March of 1999 this space for us tangueros (Tango lovers) in Santa Barbara. We are striving to be the information source for Tango events in the Santa Barbara area.

General information

  • We meet every Wednesday around 9:00 PM at the Café Buenos Aires. We share a nice dinner and social dance until 10:30 PM or so. No experience necessary, and there is no charge other than the food ordered. The Café is located in 1316 State St. right across from the Arlington Theatre; their phone number is (805)963-0242

Workshops and Classes

  • Nestor & Patricia will teach Argentine Tango classes
    Saturday and Sunday, July 29 & 30
    at the Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 E. Carrillo St.
    Beginning - Saturday & Sunday 1-3 pm $25 - partners not necessary.
    Intermediate and above - Saturday 4-6:30 pm $30 - Sunday 4-7 pm $35

  • Classes are offered on a weekly basis by our teachers Brian and Fay
    at the Carrillo Recreation Center. 100 E. Carrillo St., Santa Barbara
    • Beginners (Level I): Wednesdays from 6 to 8 PM
      Starting dates of the next six-week series are as follows (you are welcome to join at any time):
        July 12
      $75 for a whole six-week series or $15 per class
    • Advanced Beginners (Level II):
        giros/ganchos/boleos
      Wednesdays from 8 to 9 PM
      Starting dates of the next six-week series are as follows (you are welcome to join at any time):
        July 12
      $44 for a whole six-week series or $8 per class
    • Advanced:
      Saturday from 4 to 6 PM

      $15 per class
