I Have a Homepage, How Do I Set It Up? If you are using Microsoft FrontPage:
If you are not using Microsoft FrontPage: The next thing you need to do is to get an FTP program, like WS_FTP. These programs will need to know where to connect to -- the address you need is ftp.sb.net Once you are connected, you should be in your Web page directory automatically. This is the directory where all your web pages will be stored. Just upload all the files you have created or will use to this directory, and make sure that the path names and file names are correct. If you are using Netscape Navigator Gold, from the editing mode, choose FILE, then PUBLISH. This will bring up a screen to type in the address, your user name, and your password. It's that easy! If all is well, your Web page is now on-line, and you may go to it by typing in the address: http://www.sb.net/your_name where "your_name" is your login name. P.S. One thing you must do is to give the first page that you want someone to see the name "index.html". This is the name that the browser will look for when someone tries to go to your page. If this file is not present, you will get a Access Denied error, or a directory listing. |
